I hate the idea of spending money on machines/tools if I can get the job done manually.  But, I recently saw a contractor working in my neighbor’s yard basically setting up a big portion of their back yard into a garden of local plants.  Their contractor was using a Mantis Tiller.  The contractor was a hard worker, but, she was also a fairly small girl.   I was impressed at the power of the tiller and her ease in maneuvering it.

For some reason, when I moved into my current house about 9 years ago,  I became obsessed with landscaping around my house.  I lean more toward an English garden look.  I have several areas where I worked myself to death trying to dig up the ground with a grubbing hoe and other hand tools.  Recently, I had a new sewer line go through the yard causing me to have to start all over.  I decided that this time I would save myself some back breaking work by getting a lite mini-tiller.  I have no truck so a light portable tiller was a must.

Well long story short, I purchased a Mantis tiller and I love it.  It has swappable blades with several optional accessories.  The Mantis tillers are also available in an electric version.
